Our mission is simple: Make coin sales and trading as easy, open, and cost effective as possible. Whether you're interested in getting rid of some unusual old change, a casual collector, or a seasoned numismatist or dealer, we offer the same services and low fees.

Why Rare-Change.com?

I'm Matt and I started Rare-Change.com after inheriting a family coin collection and becoming dissatisfied with the options available to buy and sell coins.

Traditional coin dealer storefronts are good for serious collectors who know values and are willing to negotiate in person. Ebay is a very popular choice for online trading because of their legacy and high traffic, but they charge high fees and don't handle issues like fake coins very well. I don't like trading over Reddit or forums or other social media because of the lack of trust and inconvenience. Other sites from numismatic groups are often limited to only expensive certified coins, live auctions, or narrow functionality.

The community needed a digital marketplace that was easy to use, trustworthy, and affordable which specialized only in coins.

We commit to:

• A low fixed 8% pre-tax sales fee* with a 50¢ minimum. Our fees include all services. For comparison, Ebay charges about 14% post-tax fees which can vary.
• All-inclusive sales, auctions, and trades. Payment processing included. Shipping purchased by the buyer and managed through our site.
• No promoted listings.
• Advertising elsewhere on the internet on behalf of our sellers.
• Optional identity verification of sellers so buyers can trust who they're working with.
• Active fraud investigations and a zero-tolerance policy for fraud. Raise a concern and we will immediately look into it. We will not automatically assume a claim is accurate or not.
• End-to-end support.
