Description
The 1887-O Silver Morgan Dollar, struck at the New Orleans mint, had a substantial mintage of 11,550,000 coins, making it one of the more common dates from the New Orleans facility. Despite this relatively high production, the 1887-O is somewhat scarce in higher uncirculated grades due to poor storage conditions at the mint and heavy melting of silver dollars under the Pittman Act of 1918.
