Description
The mint condition Sacagawea dollar, introduced in 2000, features the Shoshone woman who aided the Lewis and Clark expedition, depicted with her infant son Jean Baptiste on her back, designed by Glenna Goodacre. The reverse shows a soaring eagle. Despite their golden appearance, these coins are made of a manganese-brass composition.
